FULL SCALE THERMAL ANALYSIS

OF AN AIRCRAFT ENGINE

To provide a thermal environment representative of an aircraft engine for hot surface tests a combined analytical/computational simulator was designed.

Using the supplied temperature data a represented full scale engine core was designed.

Using the supplied temperature data and the engines geometric information a computational thermal model was developed & surface temperature computed.

Once confidence in the model was obtained an arrangement of electric heating elements was configured and modeled.
